Description The American Helicopter Society’s philanthropic arm, the Vertical Flight Foundation (VFF), was founded in 1967. The Foundation is an independent charitable trust, governed by a Board of Trustees, for the support of education in rotorcraft and vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft engineering. The Foundation’s perations
are made possible solely by tax deductible donations. Each year, the VFF awards scholarships to students who demonstrate an interest in pursuing engineering careers in the vertical flight industry. The Foundation has awarded more than 170 scholarships to students from throughout the world in the three decades since it was
established. The scholarships are merit-based and are awarded in two categories: undergraduate and graduate.

Individuals will be eligible once for one of the final two years of undergraduate studies and once for a year of graduate study. Applicants must be in school through the full academic year following receipt of the scholarship. The value of the scholarships may range from $2,000 - $4,000 depending upon endowment earnings.

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must
-Be a full-time student at an accredited school of engineering
-Complete the entire Application for Scholarship (Sections I, II & III)
-Submit the Application for Scholarship to the Vertical Flight Foundation, 217 North Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314-2538, USA by February 1 for the next academic year (September - June). Postmarks will govern timeliness.
-Ensure that supporting data (references, transcripts) are received by the deadline.
-Submit an official grade transcript (including the most recent set of grades issued) and an academic endorsement from a professor or dean at your school. Items need not be submitted with the application but must be received by FEBRUARY l of the award year.

The NGPA Pilot Scholarship is open to students accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with an aviation-related curriculum (aerospace, aerodynamics, engineering, airport management, etc.) in pursuit of a degree leading to a career as a professional pilot; or accepted to or currently undergoing a course of study in a recognized professional pilot aviation training program at an institution of higher learning, aviation technical school, or government-approved flight school. Awards are not restricted to gay or lesbian students; however, consideration will be given to students attesting to gay/lesbian community service or who have worked on behalf of gay and lesbian issues.

Scholarship Description

The International Air Cargo Association is accepting research papers and projects in air cargo and related topics to be considered for cash prizes and industry recognition in this year's international TIACA Graduate Research Paper Competition.

The TIACA Competition, open to graduate students worldwide engaged in research, was developed to stimulate research in the air cargo industry and to recognize individuals who have completed outstanding research and writing on industry-related topics. The student and school will retain the publication rights to the paper.

Once a year, TIACA presents monetary awards of $1,000 for academic research incentives for the research papers, thesis or monographs of a 10 page minimum in length, single spaced and focus on the air cargo industry. All research papers must be submitted in English by December 1. The TIACA Education Committee will review all papers which will be evaluated on the relevance of the topic and timeliness.

The Ad Club provides financial assistance to full-time, undergraduate college students with a strong academic record who are interested in pursuing a career in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or a related industry.

Ad Club Scholarships are awarded for $5,000 per student for tuition for the 2007/2008 academic year. Please note that Scholarship checks will only be made out to a school, not to an individual.

In 2010 Tourism Cares will award three Joseph R. Stone Scholarships, (as part of the American Society of Travel Agents Scholarship Fund), in the amount of $2,500 each, to permanent residents of the United States or Canada, who are entering or returning full-time or part-time graduate students, studying travel and tourism or hospitality, at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States or Canada. This scholarship was established to honor Joseph R. Stone, past President of ASTA.

The applicant must:

The Federation Executive Recruitment & Education Program (FEREP) Scholarship is available to full-time graduate students attending any accredited university in the United States or Canada. In order to be eligible, you must pursue a masters degree in non-clinical social work, public administration or nonprofit management combined with graduate-level Jewish studies.

The program awards up to $40,000 for specified areas of graduate study in return for a minimum two-year paid work commitment in a North American Jewish federation following graduate school. FEREP also provides supplemental professional and cohort development opportunities, and assists students with the placement process leading to their first federation position. There are three ways in which you can fulfill the Jewish study requirement: pursue a joint degree, where one of the above professional degrees is combined with a masters in Jewish Studies or Jewish Communal Service; pursue a professional degree and a Certificate in Jewish Studies or Jewish Communal Service; design a Jewish study plan of your own that meets the requirement for relevant, graduate-level study.
