2012 Emerge Scholarship for International Students, USA

Eligibility:
1. Scholarship applicants must be accepted into a program of study at an educational institution, as evidenced by a proof of acceptance – either an acceptance letter OR a current school transcript.
2. Applicants must be at least 25 years of age as of the date of the postmark of the application.
3. Applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, and/or physical impairment.
4. Applicants must complete the application form and essay requirement and must mail all required materials to the address provided. All materials being submitted for an applicant (signed application, recommendation letters and program acceptance letter or current transcripts) must be submitted in one package. All material related to an applicant must note the applicant’s name and email address. The application package must be postmarked no later than Friday, January 6, 2012. No exceptions will be made.
5. Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications will be evaluated based on the information provided; therefore, all questions should be answered as thoroughly as possible. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
6. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on a number of criteria, including financial need, other funding received, career/life goals, essay content, leadership and participation in community activities, and honors and awards received. Please see the Additional Information section for detailed information on selection criteria and application requirements.
7. Provided that a valid email address is included, each applicant will be notified of the status of her application no later than February 15, 2012. Only a select number of applicants will be chosen as recipients.
8. Acceptance of a scholarship award constitutes permission for Emerge to use the recipient’s name, biographical information, and photo for publicity purposes.
9. Recipients of scholarships will be responsible for any and all taxes that apply to receipt of a scholarship under the law of their state of residence. Applicants should check with the appropriate state agency or with an accountant or lawyer specializing in tax questions. Emerge cannot answer questions about taxes

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Description: The money provided by the Emerge scholarship may only be used to pay for tuition and fees at the educational institution. The scholarship check will be made out directly to the institution with instructions to only apply the funds to the student’s current account to pay for school tuition and fees. If awarded, your scholarship funds will be available as of March 2012 and may be paid towards tuition, books and fees for Fall 2011 through Fall 2016, or until the full scholarship funds are used. The exact amount of each scholarship and the total number of scholarships to be awarded will vary from year to year (10 scholarships were awarded in 2011). The approximate value of each award for 2012 will be $2,000 – $5,000 (amount is subject to change).

Scholarship Description: New call of scholarships at the Erasmus Mundus for students/scholars aiming to study/teach at the Master on Work, Organization and Personnel Psychology (WOP‐P). Recently awarded by the Mediterranean Office for Youth and in its second round by the Erasmus Mundus program, WOP‐P master continues to be considered one of the best programs in its professional and academic area. Five universities are part of the educational consortium: Universitat de València (Spain), Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), Université René Descartes Paris 5 (France), Alma Mater Studiorum‐Università di Bologna (Italy) and Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal). New partnerships have been developed with the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil) and University of Guelph (Canada). In the second round of the WOP‐P Program, some changes have been introduced such as the possibility to study the whole program in English and to develop exchange periods of study with the new American Universities in the partnership.

Chevening Scholarships for Indonesian & East Timor Citizens, UK

The British Chevening Awards programme, funded by the British Government (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) and administered by the British Council, has awarded over 1000 scholarship and fellowships to Indonesians since 1984.
Full scholarships are offered for one year Master degrees at United Kingdom universities and other professional institutions. The scholarships would cover living costs, tuition fees and return airfares.
The deadline for applications for 2012/13 Chevening Scholarships in Indonesia and East Timor is 15 January 2012.
