- 1st Class or Upper 2nd class Honours Bachelors Degree or Masters degree (UK or UK equivalent) in a relevant discipline,

- For those whose first language is not English, normally a language proficiency score of at least IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 600 (computerised equivalent 250)

- Fluency in Chinese language

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Description: Two scholarships are provided by the Zhonghui Maritime Education and Research Programme for promising postgraduate students who wish to pursue research leading to an MPhil/PhD degree. The chosen thesis subject, to be agreed between the student and their lead supervisor, will concern maritime issues related to China and Chinese seafarers.
